Neurosurgery as a department was established in CMS in June 2010, first time outside Kathmandu valley, by Dr. Cherian, who had started neurosurgery in Western Nepal two years earlier. The initial 2 years’ work in Nepal has been published in Asian Journal of Neurosurgery and this has definitely won laurels to Nepal’s Neurosurgery.
