This department is engaged in teaching undergraduates (M.B.B.S Course), Post-graduates (M.D & M.Sc.), training laboratory technicians besides imparting laboratory assistance to indoor and outdoor patients, public-health jobs like water-culture, and regular bacteriological check of operation-theatres, I.C. units also. Specialized services for neighboring hospitals and institutions.

The faculty includes four senior teachers, two junior lecturers, four medical technologists and other ancillary staff. Periodic examinations are conducted for all undergraduate and post-graduate students after completion of phased syllabi, internees undergo training. Seminars journal – clubs, case-presentations with visual aids including computers with internet facilities to make teaching and learning process updated with global standards of medical teaching. The departmental library offers updated information with adequate books and periodicals. Research and review articles are published in our college journals and university journals  uniformly good results are secured by students at different university examinations.
