Prof. Dr. Dharmagat Bhattarai is Nepal’s first—and to date the only—subspecialist physician-scientist in Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology, encompassing immune deficiencies, immune dysregulation, allergy, and cellular therapies.

He is recognized as a pioneering investigator who identified one of the founding gene variants responsible for a rare disorder within the spectrum of immuno-actinopathies and has studied effect of genetic polymorphism in cytokine storms and vasculitic diseases.
