Prof. Dr. Dharmagat Bhattarai is Nepal’s first—and to date the only—subspecialist physician-scientist in Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology, encompassing immune deficiencies, immune dysregulation, allergy, and cellular therapies.

He represents South Asia in the global immunology community and is a recipient of the prestigious एसिड Young Immunologist Award and JMF award among various reputed awards. Dr. Bhattarai received advanced training from some of the world’s most distinguished institutions in immunology and rheumatology, including:

He is recognized as a pioneering investigator who identified one of the founding gene variants responsible for a rare disorder within the spectrum of immuno-actinopathies and has studied effect of genetic polymorphism in cytokine storms and vasculitic diseases. Dr. Bhattarai is an internationally acknowledged immunology scientist and has served as a visiting academic and mentor at several foreign universities.
