Department of Paediatrics

The department provides for inpatient, outpatient and emergency services round the clock. Its services extend to normal deliveries, babies delivered with C section and other anomalous babies.

Critically ill neonates are taken care in the fully equipped NICU.

An Intermediate Nursery takes care of sick babies. The department also runs an immunization clinic on every Friday along with programmes such as Well Baby Clinic & ORT hubs.

Paedriatic health check-up camps are conducted periodically as outreach programmes for the inaccessible population.

Academic activities include a didactic schedule of lectures, clinics, tutorials, demonstrations, labour-room teaching, immediate care of newborn, neonatal resuscitation and seminars.

  • 24 hour inpatient, outpatient and Emergency services.

  • Routine BCG vaccination for neonates.
  • Care for premature, LBW (low birth weight) & sick babies; referred to the hospital.
  • Intermediate Nursery services to less sick neonates.
  • Regular ICU ( Paed) services to critically ill children with ventilators & monitors.
  • Regular Immunization Clinic.
  • Regular Well Baby Clinic.
  • Periodic Health check-up camps at rural outposts.
  • Doctors at the dept. are encouraged to take up research activities.
