Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is deeply engaged with the need based all round integrated curriculum for teaching and training of MBBS and PG students. The Department has well experienced and highly academic faculties for imparting medical education to students and Interns. The Department is also engaged deeply with the various research activities of current clinical interest
The competent doctor can only be produced, if they pass through a well planned medical education.
The doctors are the backbone of quality health care which is more important in Obstetrics since Maternal Mortality in Nepal is one of the highest in the world.
We have two clear objectives:
Expose them to the various theoretical and practical aspects of learning and rotate them in the Government and Cancer hospitals and check the technical competence achieved. Make them leaders in the field of OB/GYN.
Running the general and specialized clinics, free health camps, cooperating with the NGO’s in performing various operations at no-cost basis for the patients.
Active participation in National & International Conferences; Publications in Medical journals, Books

Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology is imparting updated health care to its patients. This has resulted in continuous increase in flow of complicated referral cases from adjoining areas including adjoining Medical Colleges like Lumbini, Bhairawaha, Dunkan Hospital, across the border with excellent outcome. Maternal Mortality has been remaining virtually nil since last 5 years.
